Intended Use

FluA/ FluB/ SARS-CoV-2 Real-time RT-PCR Kit is a multiple real-time RT-PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid from influenza A, influenza B or SARS-CoV-2 virus in oropharyngeal swab and nasopharyngeal swab samples of suspected cases. This test is only for laboratory use, not for home testing.

About FluA/ FluB/ SARS-CoV-2 Real-time RT-PCR

Influenza is a highly contagious, acute respiratory illness characterized by the abrupt onset of fever, myalgia, headache, malaise, nonproductive cough, sore throat, and rhinitis. Influenza viruses are negative-strand RNA viruses, and the viruses consist of three types: Influenza A, Influenza B and Influenza C. Human influenza A and B viruses cause seasonal epidemics of disease (known as the flu season) almost every winter, and their clinical symptoms are similar.

The novel coronaviruses belong to the β genus. COVID-19 is an acute respiratory infectious disease. People are generally susceptible. Currently, the patients infected by the novel coronavirus are the main source of infection; asymptomatic infected people can also be an infectious source. Based on the current epidemiological investigation, the incubation period is 1 to 14 days, mostly 3 to 7 days. The main manifestations include fever, fatigue and dry cough. Nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, myalgia and diarrhea are found in a few cases.

Clinical Application

1. The kit can quickly identify whether a patient is infected with influenza A, influenza B or SARS-CoV-2, thereby effectively controlling viral infection.

2. The test results of this kit are for clinical reference only and should not be used as the only standard for clinical diagnosis. It is recommended to combine the patient's clinical manifestations and other laboratory tests for a comprehensive analysis of the condition.
