What is Beryllium Fluoride for?


As a mimic of phosphate, beryllium fluoride is used in biochemistry, particularly protein crystallography.  For its exceptionally chemically stability, beryllium fluoride forms a basic constituent of the preferred fluoride salt mixture used in liquid-fluoride nuclear reactors.
